He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Forbes and Suzie Forbes (Ziegenbein); and his siblings, Virginia Tillson and Ronald Forbes. He is survived by: his wife Mary Mason; his daughters, Connie Haglund (Stan) of Norfolk, Kathy Gordon (Jim) of San Antonio and Theresa Wiegert (Scott) of Norfolk; his niece Renee Tillson of Omaha; his grandchildren, Angela Haglund (Lucas Burk), Alicia Haglund, Taylor Wiegert (Katie), Rachel Lindstedt (Tyler), Ellen Gordon and Matthew Gordon; his great grandchildren, Hudson, Quinlee and Lazarus; and his sister-in-law Nancy Forbes.
