With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bette Maxine Mechaley of Neligh, Nebraska, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 1, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Scott Conner and Rhoda Conner (Styer); her husband James Mechaley; and her siblings, Ethel, Gladys, Dorothy, Wilma, Hazel, Margie and Sammie Conner.
She is survived by: her children, Tom Mechaley of Center, NE and Kate Ahlstedt (Dan) of O'Neill, NE; and her sisters-in-law, Pat Conner of Sergeant Bluff, IA. and Mary Mechaley Totten (Monte). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and many dear nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (702 W 11th St, Neligh, NE 68756). A wake was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church (702 W 11th St, Neligh, NE 68756). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (702 W 11th St, Neligh, NE 68756). A burial was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at the Laurel Hill Cemetery.
