It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Veda E Bennett of Nebraska City, Nebraska, who passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Horner and Hazel Horner (McClane); her husband Leonard Bennett; her daughter Virginia Ward; her siblings, Floyd Horner, Bertha Morton and Dorothy Splitt; her brothers-in-law, William Splitt and Roy Schroeder; and her son-in-law Greg Drzycimski.
She is survived by: her children, Merri Lynn Drzycimski of Sioux Rapids, IA and Allen Bennett (Janene) of Nebr; her grandchildren, Aaron Bennett of Nebr, Adam Bennett (Anne) of Nebr, Becky Sturm of Nebr, Aric Bennett (Tara) of Nebr and Ryan Bennett (Tawna) of Nebr; her great grandchildren, Keegan, Paige Stones, Trevor Bennett, Tylor, Natalie, Abbie Sturm, Hollie Rice, Josie, Carter, Lexie Bennett, Bodhi, Margo Bennett and Will Drzycimski (Hannah); and her sister Thelma Schroeder of Cortland, NE.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gude Mortuary (403 S 9th St, Nebraska City, NE 68410). A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be given to the Otoe County Respite Program.
