She was predeceased by: her parents, Sterling J. Kreifels and Caroline E. Kreifels (Heng); her parents-in-law, Hans and Frieda Neels; her granddaughter Brandy Neels; and her siblings, Francis "Pat" (Irma Kreifels), Jean (Don Wurtele), Joyce (Norman Kempkes), John (Janet Kreifels), Marcene (Allen Burr) and Carolyn (Bob Lechner).

She is survived by: her husband Orlin Neels; her children, Ed Neels (Sharon), Dean Neels (Barbara), Richard Neels (Diane), Mary Frary (Jack), Ann Boellstorff (Todd), Nancy Reed (Jeff) and Marla Rowe (Tim); and her grandchildren, Tony Neels (Suzanne), Karrie Dovel (Sean), Tyler Neels (Ashley), Kelly Kraus (Scott), Ellen Brinkman (Joe), Andy, William Neels, David Neels (Jackie), Adam Neels (Brittney), Danielle Neels, Michael Frary, Andrea McCormick (Seth), Audrey Frary, Jacqueline Cole (Grant), Patrick Frary, Theresa Frary, Daniel Frary, Taylor Kohl (Jared), Ryan Reed, Travis Reed, Caroline Reed, Clayton Rowe (Sarah), Kasey Lench (Robert) and Faith. She is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorials may be given to St. Paulinus Church in Syracuse or the Dunbar Fire Department.
