She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest J. and Mary B. Grimes (Bernard); her husband Robert E. Schemmel; her son Robert M. "Bobby" Schemmel; her great grandchild Cody Eggert; and her brother Jule Grimes.
She is survived by: her son Gary E. Schemmel (Donna Bohling); her grandchildren, Jody Eggert and Kelly Kreifel; her great grandchildren, Katelyn Eggert, Claire Kreifel and Morgan Kreifel; her sisters, Janis Grimes of Julian, NE and Rita Weber (Roger) of Waverly, NE; and her sister-in-law Virginia Grimes of Omaha, NE.
A rosary was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 1:10 PM at the Gude Mortuary (403 S 9th St, Nebraska City, NE 68410). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Camp Creek Cemetery Association.
