She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Edmond and Martha Ruth Higgins (Hummel); her son-in-law Chuck Swanson; her parents-in-law, Mark and Agnes Thayer; and her siblings-in-law, Kenny, Lois Vollertsen and Bob Ogan.
She is survived by: her husband Foy Edward Thayer; her children, Cathy Wellensiek (Henry) of Syracuse, Cheryl Swanson of Nebraska City, Mary Gilliland (Gary) of Lincoln and Mark Thayer of Omaha; her grandsons, Corey Swanson and Lukas Gilliland (Kailee Groshans); and her sister-in-law Norma Jean Ogan of Monmouth, OR. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
She was a member of the Eagles and American Legion Auxiliaries and was a former NCHS Alumni Foundation board member.
