With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Carter Wayne Herold (Nebraska City, Nebraska), born in Shenandoah, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Herold and Winifred Herold (Faye); his siblings, Gloria Helms (Terry), Darla Stukenholtz (Louis), Romelle Copenhaver (Ronald), Sunda Doiel, Gayle Watton and Courtney Herold; and his grandson Austin Herold.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas Herold (Mary), Kathryn Herold (Mark), Allison Santana (Darren) and Joseph Herold (Kristen); his wife Dorothy Goff of Benedict's Catholic Church; his brother Mike Herold; his brother-in-law Ron Copenhaver; and his grandchildren, Sean Santana (Richelle), Andrew Santana (Taylor), Briana Parker (Caleb), Hope Herold, Quinn Sowokinos, Megan, Taylor McLaughlin (Matthew), Hezekiah Santana (Hailey), Faith Rotherham (Brandon), Anthony Santana (Courtney), Lillian Santana, Zacchaeus Santana and Naomi Santana. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gude Mortuary (403 S 9th St, Nebraska City, NE 68410). A rosary was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Benedict's Catholic Church (411 5th Rue, Nebraska City, NE 68410).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Nebraska City, NE.
