He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schmitz and Martha Schmitz (Bongers); and his wife Betty Heng. He is survived by: his daughter Diane Marie (Schmitz); his granddaughters, Amanda Ready, Emily Shillings (Kyle Shillings) and Amy Ready; his great grandchild Pearl Jean Shillings; and his son-in-law Scott Ready. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Lourdes Endowment Fund.
