He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman William and Else Johanna Wendt (Heil). He is survived by: his former wife Lucille Hansen; his children, Diane Carse (Marvin "Butch") of Davenport and Matthew Wendt (Michelle) of Murdock; his grandsons, Justin Carse (Carrie) of Davenport, Cole and Connor Wendt of Murdock; and his great grandchild Logan Carse.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church.
