It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elida (Cortinas) Aguayo of Mitchell, Nebraska, born in Ballinger, Texas, who passed away on July 1, 2023, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Cortinas and Eugenia Cortinas (Luna); her brother Damacio Luna Cortinaz; and her nephew Carlos E Chavez. She is survived by: her daughter Rosalinda; her husband Ruben Aguayo; her children, Jessie Aguayo, Ruben Aguayo, Jr. (Victoria Silas) and Roslinda Gutierrez (Chris); her grandchildren, Antonio Gutierrez, Angelica Gutierrez, Sophia Aguayo, Noel Aguayo and Silas Silas Jr.; and her siblings, Anna Barragan, George Cortinez, Johnny Cortinas (Jan) and Pete Cortinez. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
