He is survived by: his wife Janet Mattke of Mitchell; his sons, Eric (Sherrie) of Katy and Greg (Melissa) of Cheyenne, Wyoming; his granddaughters, Britany Swartz (Dustin) of Gering, Nebraska, Lindsay Hout (Casey) of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Bailee Underhill of Chadron, Nebraska, Jazlyn Underhill of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Anesah Underhill of Cheyenne, Wyoming; his great grandchildren, Colton Swartz of Gering, Nebraska, Easton Swartz of Gering, Nebraska and Zaylee Hout of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and his siblings, Diana Bratts (Dave) of Ozawkie, Kansas, Frank Underhill (Joan) of Palco, Kansas and Keith Underhill (Carol) of Hill City, Kansas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Dave's name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America.
