He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin J. Schaefer and Thelma M. Schaefer (Duran); his sisters, Zoe, Zonda and Zebra; and his nephew Kenith.
He is survived by: his wife Joy Bacon of Minden; his children, Michael of Kearney, Michelle of Kearney, Tiffany of Kearney and Sara of Kearney; and his siblings, Zachary Schaefer (Dean) of Great Falls, MT and Zelma Owen of Georgia.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services (2421 Avenue A, Kearney, NE 68847).
