He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd B. Gilbert and Ruby V. Gilbert (Bloomfield); his daughter Lynthia Holmes; and his brother Marvin Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Judy of Minden; his children, Clarinda "Linda" Darling (Rick Peterson) of Carol Stream, IL and Earl Gilbert (Lori) of Kearney; his grandchildren, Travis Holl (Ashley), Lydia Darling and Vivian Darling; and his great grandchild Hadley Holl. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Craig Funeral Home (336 N Nebraska Ave, Minden, NE 68959). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First Christian Church (444 N Brown Ave, Minden, NE 68959).
