He was predeceased by: his parents, Charley August and Martha Marie Swanson (Anderson); his wife Shirley M. Shultz; his sisters, Evelyn James and Clara Drake; and his brothers-in-law, Charles Drake, Don Pirnie, John Pirnie, Robert Delosh and Richard Shultz.
He is survived by: his daughter Linda Nelson (Lynn) of Minden; his grandchildren, Scott Nelson (Teresa) and Lisa Hope (Dan); his daughter Connie Ryan (Terry); his grandchildren, Brad Zwink (Jennifer) and Bobbie Jo Strong (Spencer); his great grandchildren, Ashley Vettel (Dalton), Emily, Haley Nelson, Logan, Gavin, Brielle Hope, Rya, Corinn Zwink, Sutton and Hallie Jo Strong; his great great grandchildren, Benjamin and Cooper Vettel; his siblings, Helen Marie Pirnie, Alice Pirnie and Loran Swanson (Janet); and his sister-in-law Patricia Shultz. He is also survived by his mother raise his three sisters and one brother.
