He was predeceased by: his siblings, Bob, Charles, Larry Dee and Ellen Villars Holden. He is survived by: his father-in-law Charles Borgaard; his wife Charlene M. Borgaard; and his children, Rick Villars, Dan Villars and Pat Erickson. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
He was a supporter of Be The Gift in Minden and Mission II Haiti, where he donated multiple tools, a pickup, and a Jeep.
