He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Bartels and Lanita Bartels (Schumacher). He is survived by: his sister Joan DeWitt (Kent) of Minatare; his nephew Bill DeWitt (Tara); his children, Corbin, Lilian, Mariska, Edlyn Jo and Everett; his niece Tonya DeWitt; his aunt Luba Bartels; his uncle Vergil Hagel; and also Graceson.
