He was predeceased by: his parents, James Whitaker and Kathleen Whitaker (Kennedy); his granddaughter Lindsay Ann Whitaker; his brother James; and his sister-in-law Nancy Whitaker.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Major; his sons, Mark Whitaker (Jennifer) of McCook, Kevin Whitaker (Cindy) of Phoenix, Arizona and Jeff Whitaker (Robin Ortiz) of McCook; his grandson Sean James Whitaker of McCook; and his great grandchild Amelia Whitaker of Oakland, California. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
