He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Klooz and Elizabeth Klooz (Rice); his wife Ruthann Klooz (Lennemann); his daughter Kathy Matson; and his siblings, Clark Klooz, Dorothy Hansen and Evelyn Arnold.

He is survived by: his daughter Dr. Karen Hunter of McCook, NE; his son-in-law Gary Matson of Denver, CO; his sister Eva Reichelderfer of Mineral Wells, TX; and his grandchildren, Logan Hunter (Hannah) of Little Rock, AR, Austin Hunter (Jordan) of Trenton, NE, Valerie Loghry of Trenton, NE, Julia Matson of Omaha, Denise Matson of Omaha, David Matson of Omaha and Sam Matson of Omaha. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

“Meeting Mr. Klooz 6yrs ago, at the farm store, was a blessing to me. That day, convinced life had dealt me the so-called, 'ugly boots,' to wear on my feet; I'd allowed anger & self pity to take over my mood. Then, approching me, was a man in a motorchair greeting me with a smile. My ignorance of produce were met with patience & knowledge. I saw his joy & appreciation for life & I smiled back & felt joy, apprecition, humility, & gratitude, fill my heart. I will never forget Mr. Klooz. Thank you.”
