She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerald Thompson and Judith Thompson (Hogeland); her siblings, Terry Thompson and Susan Thompson; and her foster father Gene Smith.

She is survived by: her children, Brock Kotschwar of Hays, KS, Carissa Bollig (Jonathan) of Hays, KS and Amber Kotschwar of Culbertson, NE; her foster mother Carole Smith of Hastings, NE; her stepfather Joseph Medina of Franklin, NE; her siblings, Dean Thompson (Marya) of Hastings, NE, Gary Thompson (Barb) of Williston, ND, Alice Jacobitz (Rod) of Minden, NE, Jody Stewart (Wayne) of McCook, NE, Kelly Watters (Ron) of Beaver City, NE and Khrista Medina of Brighton, CO; her foster sister Becky Halsey (Alan) of Hastings, NE; her grandchildren, Darryl, Jeremy, Vance and Briley; and also Paul Smith (Yvonne) of Gering, NE. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other family members.
