She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Wicke and Esther Wicke (Neuhart); her husband Eldon Barenberg; her sister Darlene; and her brother-in-law David Phelps.
She is survived by: her brother Wayne Wicke; her children, David Barenberg (Joann), Debra Lauer (Ron) and Denise Gillen (Lance) of McCook; her grandchildren, Brad Lauer (Jill), Bailey Crick (Brandon), Danielle Schumacher (Dylan), Kelsey Gillen, Kassidy Gillen, Easton Gillen, Brooklynn Gillen, Justin Barenberg and Logan Barenberg; and her great grandchildren, Aiden Lauer, Oakland Lauer, Talan Schumacher, Torryn Schumacher, Banks Schumacher, Kamry Crick and Kover Schumacher. She is also survived by extended family, friends and countless daycare kids that called her Grandma and many daycare parents.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel - McCook (607 Norris Ave, McCook, NE 69001). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Peace Lutheran Church (411 E 6th St, McCook, NE 69001).
Memorials are suggested to the family of Fay Ann Barenberg for future designation.
