He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Clarence and Ruth Lillian Swanson (Bauer); his sister Irma Della; his great grandchild Isiah Cappel; his sister Fredonna Ruppert; his brother-in-law Dale Ruppert; and his nephew Daryl Ruppert.
He is survived by: his wife Donna A. Nickerson; his daughter Debra Swanson; his grandsons, Mark Cappel (Christina) and Jarrod Cappel; his daughter Christi Evans (Steve); his grandchildren, Trevor Evans (Alex), Chance Evans (Makaley) and Amanda Hueftle (Preston); his daughter Melanie Goodenberger; his grandchildren, Dalton and Alexis Goodenberger; his son Jon Swanson (Ann); his granddaughter Courtnei (Aubrey Swanson); and his caregiver Tammy Merat. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
