He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Mires and Marjorie Mires (Fitzgerald); his brother Terry Mires; his grandparents, Mildred, William Fitzgerald, Carrie and Elmer Burton Mires Sr.; and his brothers-in-law, James Prochazka, George Krahe and William Tolly.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Mires of McCook; his son Jonathan (Whitney); his grandsons, Elijah and Asher; his sister Jan Tolly of Wausau, WI; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Mires of Petersburg, IN, Patricia Prochazka of Atwood, KS and Janet Krahe of Topeka, KS. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of Flowers, a memorial will be established in Butch's name to be designated in the future.
