He is survived by: his wife Janice Lucas of Mason City; his children, Teresa Smith (Kelly) of Kearney, Trenton Burns (Liz) of Hazard, Tracy Burns (Jacque) of Kearney and Terence Burns (Danielle) of Oxford; his brother Gerald Burns (Sally) of Atkinson; and his sister-in-law Peggy Horn (Rick) of Kenesaw. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
