He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Kraus and Barbara K. Kraus (Zieons); his wife Esther Kraus; his siblings, William, Karl and Lou; and his brother-in-law Len Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Wendell of Grant, Deb Kraus of Madrid, Tim Kraus of Ogallala and Mark Kraus of Madrid; his siblings, Marty Ising, Marietta Johnson, Tom Kraus (Janet), Gerry Kraus (Shari), Chris Kraus (Janice), Kay Meeks (George) and Pat Kraus (Joan); and his sisters-in-law, Patti Kraus and Carol Kraus. He is also survived by four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in John's memory for later designation.
