He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Sjuts and Louise Sjuts (Johannes); his sisters, Verna Sjuts and Esther; his brother-in-law Duane Folken; his brother Erwin; his sister-in-law Ila Sjuts; his brothers, Harley and Calvin Sjuts; and his granddaughter Tina Wessel.
He is survived by: his wife Genene Berends; his children, Dan Sjuts of Oakland, Jane Wessel (Bill) of Stanton, Larry Sjuts (Sue) of Madison, Sally Shockey (Steve) of Mountain Home, ID, Gail Sunderman (Tim) of Key West, FL, Anne Vacha (Chuck) of Gering and Nancy Eisenman of Brownsburg, IN; his sister Joan Waldman of Platte Center; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Sjuts of Fremont and Barb Sjuts of Humphrey. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren.
