She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Reed and Alice Reed (Tennant); her husband Franklin "Nick" Nickolson; her brother Gary Reed; and her brothers-in-law, Richard Payne and Kenneth Halterman.

She is survived by: her children, Duaine (Michelle), Casey and Michele (Ryan); her close friend Larry Scott; and her sisters, Mona Payne and Dian Halterman. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
