Whitson; his mother Faye Whitson; his brother Doug Whitson; his sister-in-law Pam Whitson; his mother-in-law Clara Kemper; his siblings-in-law, Noel Kemper Jr. and Debbie Kemper; his niece Jenny Cech of Sheyenne Diltz; and his nephew Jason Whitson of Grady Diltz.
