It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Janice M. Upson of Loomis, Nebraska, born in Holdrege, Nebraska, who passed away on January 25, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her spouse Margle Ray Upson; her parents, James R. Johnson and Eleanor Johnson; her parents-in-law, Harry and Hilda Upson (Pouk); her son Shane Upson; her grandson Chance Upson; her sister-in-law Dorcel Johnson (Merlyn "Mert"); and her nephew Colt Bartels.

She is survived by: her children, James Raymond and Eleanor Marie Johnson (Heidemann); her close friends, Alice and Arlie; her daughters, Vicki Roeder (David) of Coffeyville, Kansas, Marti Johnson (Kyle) of Atlanta and Jodi Upson of Lincoln, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Kactus Bidwell (Miles), Kanyon Cole (Cutter), Carlli Sellers, Dawn Upson and Dillion Upson; her great grandchildren, Kash and Konlee Bidwell; her siblings, JoAnn Epping of Kearney, Nebraska and Roger "Swede" Johnson of Holdrege; her aunt LaVern Post of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her nieces, Julie Bartels (Mike) of Ragan, Nebraska, Kristi Carlson (Brad) of Minden, Nebraska, Kelly Johnson of Mesa, Arizona, Jamie Allen (Scott) of Wentzville, Missouri and Jennifer Epping of Kearney; her nephew Tim Epping of Gibbon, Nebraska; and also Arlis Wells of Holdrege. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Due to health concerns, regarding the COVID-19 pandemic; current CDC and Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services guidelines for Faith-Based Services will be followed.

A memorial has been established in Janice's honor, and kindly suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
