He was predeceased by: his parents, P. K. DeJong and Alice DeJong; his siblings, David, Donald, Stephen and Esther; his son-in-law Larry Marcellis; his grandson Jonathan Riggan; and his great grandchild Julia Steger.
He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn DeJong (Lorch); his children, Dave (Lori DeJong), Suzanne (Adam Lail), Todd (Anita DeJong), Marcee (Rick Riggan), Brent (Jodi DeJong) and Shawn (Stephanie DeJong); and his sister Naomi Nelson. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren and their spouses, thirty great grandchildren.
