He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Bruns and Dena Bruns (Block); his siblings, Esther Siemers, Chet and Alvin Bruns; and his son-in-law John Neil Graham.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Schumacher; and his children, Stephen Bruns, Donna Sylvester, Marilyn Graham, Jonathan Bruns and Lisa Vasa (Steven). He is also survived by Twelve grand-children and thirteen great grandchildren.
