She was predeceased by: her parents, John Koop and Katherine Koop; her siblings, Shirley Probst, Richard, John, Steven, Neil and Kenneth; and her son-in-law James Schmersal.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Schmersal and Melanie (David Coleman) of Lincoln; her sister Sevelta Krause of Brownwood, TX; her grandchildren, Jami Marcano, Erik Schmersal (Susan), Kara Havel (Jason), Kevin Schmersal (Heather), Scott Coleman and Mikaela Garrett (Clint); and her great grandchildren, Lauren Voss (Nickolas), Kaleb Marcano, Aubree Cummins, Natalie, Emily Schmersal, Braydon, Ayvah Havel, Jaelynn, Mattison, Colten Schmersal, Haley and Caden Garrett.
A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Messiah Lutheran Church (1800 S 84th St, Lincoln, NE 68506). A burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery (6700 S 14th St, Lincoln, NE 68512).
