He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard Laird and Anna Marie Laird; his wife Eleanor "Sam" Wendling; his grandson Kobe Wilson; his children, Chris Laird (Celeste) of Lincoln, Doug Laird of Mesa, AZ. and Jamie Wilson of Lincoln; and his grandchildren, Mackenzie Groshans, David Laird, Max Laird and Kai Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
