He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Fischer and Katherine Fischer; and his siblings, Kenneth Fischer and Jeannette Deines. He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Ginny" Fischer; his brother Robert Fischer (Janet); his nephews, Dave Fischer (Nancy), Tony Fischer, Mike Fischer (Kiki), Dan Deines and Steve Deines (Teri); and his niece Holly Shelton (Brent).

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St Mary's Catholic Church Restoration Fund or St Jude's Hospital.
