He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Tichota and Mabel Tichota (Ahlman); his brother Marlan Tichota; and his daughter-in-law Michelle Tichota (Bourgeois). He is survived by: his wife Kathy Tichota; his children, Robert Tichota and Amy Sanderford (Aaron); his granddaughters, Josephine and Emily; his siblings, Jim Tichota (Judy) and Kathy Roussan (Bill); and his siblings-in-law, Donna Tichota and Kurt Bauer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Memorials to be designated for People's City Mission, Pine Ridge Reconciliation Center or United Lutheran Church.
