She was predeceased by: her parents, George Niemeyer and Florence Niemeyer (Gragert); her brother Lyle Dean Niemeyer (Moniema Andresen Niemeyer); and her sister-in-law Pam Karr Niemeyer. She is survived by: her son Kendall Scott Hawthorne; her grandchildren, Tyler Scott Hawthorne, Tiffany and William Layne Hawthorne; her nephews, Duane Niemeyer (Linda) of Hastings and Daren Niemeyer (Buffy) of Bladen; her niece Debra Niemeyer Garrelts (Bruce) of Kearney; and also, Amy Jodene Fiala (Jim), Harmony Jo Fiala (Dylan) and Melony Rose Fiala-Vanek (Tanner).
