With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Alyce Queen of Lincoln, Nebraska, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 19, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William Schlegelmilch and Dorothy Schlegelmilch (Steinbach); her brothers, Tye and Daniel Schlegelmilch; her spouse Airman; her children, Marita Skacel (Rob) of Lititz, PA, David Queen (Tracy) of Springfield, VA and Anne Marie Vanecek (Dave) of Bennington, NE; her siblings, Charles Schlegelmilch (Annette) of Hilo, HI, Florence Schlegelmilch of Lincoln, NE and June Schlegelmilch of Omaha, NE; her sisters-in-law, Mary E. Schlegelmilch of Texas and Sumei Schlegelmilch; and also Bill Queen. She was also cherished by 8 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ (3500 Sheridan Blvd, Lincoln, NE 68506). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Calvary Cemetery (3880 L St, Lincoln, NE 68510).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters (1040 South Cotner Blvd, Lincoln, NE 68510) or the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (PO Box 4469, Washington DC 20017).
