He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Watson and Margaret Watson; his parents-in-law, Leonard and Juanita Spatz; and his brother Robert.

He is survived by: his wife Jane Spatz; his sons, John (LuAnn) of Norfolk and Rich (Lori) of Holdrege; his grandchildren, Noah Watson of Omaha, Jonah Watson of Kearney, Reba Lowry (Mitch) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Elijah Watson of Sherman Oaks and Hannah Goldfish (Avery) of Holdrege; his siblings, Rich Watson (Nancy) and Trudy Geiger; and his brother-in-law Gerain Spatz (Laura).
