He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence McConnell and Edith B. McConnell (Anderson); and his daughter Tammy Dunbar. He is survived by: his son Tim McConnell (Michele); his grandchildren, Jason McConnell (Amanda), Ryann Kluthe (Steve), Dustin Biggerstaff and Noelle McConnell; and his siblings, Kent McConnell (Cheryl) and Diann Johnston (Joe). He is also survived by five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be directed to COPD Foundation, Nebraska Humane Society, and to the family directly to be distributed at their discretion.
