He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilda Madsen (Madsen) and Kermit Madsen; and his father-in-law Kai Myron Brand. He is survived by: his wife Jan Madsen; his children, JoHanna Buchholz (Scott) of Devils Lake, ND, Marta Klug (Jason) of Pleasant Dale, NE and Hans Madsen (Kelsey) of Fremont, NE; his grandchildren, Lydia Buchholz, Adaya, Jonathan, Emmalyn Klug and Hallie Madsen; his sisters, Marilyn Garey and Ann Jorgenson; his mother-in-law Anita Brand; and his siblings-in-law, Doug, Gail Brand, Nancy and Joel Schroeder. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
