He was predeceased by: his parents, Tex Hancock and Tina Hancock; his brother Allen; his sister-in-law Ann Hancock; and his sister Texanne Nally.

He is survived by: his wife Marsha Cantrell; his daughter Faye; his son-in-law Robert Oakes of Lincoln, NE; his daughter Stephanie; his son-in-law Gregory Sund of Kijabe, Kenya; his daughter Deborah; his son-in-law Cecil Juanarena of Tacoma, WA; his grandchildren, Hunter, Chase, Logan, Zane Oakes, Ella, Piper, Biniyam Sund, Alma and Xavi Juanarena; his sister Joanna Flashman; and his brother-in-law Bernie Nally. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christ Place Church (5555 Roose St, Lincoln, NE 68506).

In lieu of flowers the family invites donations to: Yezelalem Minch to support widows and orphans in Ethiopia, yezelalemminch.org, Or, To The AME Fund to provide scholarships for African doctors to receive specialty training.
