She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Hensley and Anna Louise Hensley; her brothers, Ray and Jack Hensley; and her sister-in-law Connie Hensley.
She is survived by: her husband Jim Gies; her children, Douglas James Gies (Lisa Gies) of McKinney, Ellen Lousie Chuda (Curt) of Omaha and Christine Marie Boden (Mike) of Lincoln, Nebraska.; her grandchildren, Kyle Douglas Gies (Meaghan) of Princeton, Connor Gies (Megan), Brett Gies (Taylor) of McKinney, Angie Chuda (Elliot) of Lee's Summit, Heather Jacobs (Eli) of Omaha, Mitchell Chuda (Antonia) of Colorado Springs, Deric Boden (Taylor) of Lincoln, Rylee Boden (Matt) of Lincoln and Maya Boden of Lincoln; her sister-in-law Sandy Hensley of Amarillo; her brother Dave; her sisters-in-law, Julie Gies of Lincoln and MaryAnn Gies of Lincoln; her brother Jerry; her sisters-in-law, Jane Gies of Lansing and Jean Wengert of Longmont; and her stepbrother Bernie Koehne of Lincoln. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials to be sent to Eastridge Presbyterian Church, 1135 Eastridge Drive, Lincoln, Nebraska, 68510, designated for Camp Calvin Crest.
