He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Lewis Marx and Frieda Marx (Imig); his wife Marlene Sinner; his siblings, Edna Mae Hughes (Donald), Dorothy Marx and Melvin Marx (Jean); his nephew Bill Hughes; his great-niece Gwendolyn Ihrie; and also, Marvin, Edna Sinner, Brian Wiles and Lucas Brunssen.

He is survived by: his daughters, Debra Knopik (Mark), Diane Devine and Denise Marx; his grandchildren, Derek Lunzmann (Cyan), Jennifer Baker (Shawn), Darcy Wiles, Kyle Seuss (Mariah), Sydney Brunssen and Sam Lowe; his niece Susan Marx; and his nephews, Mark Hughes, Tom Marx and Doug Marx (Katie).
