He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Gilbertson and Caroline Gilbertson (Thvedt); his sister-in-law Karen Gilbertson; his parents-in-law, Harold Fredriksen and Marie Fredriksen; and his brothers-in-law, Douglas and Jim Fredriksen.
He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Nadean Amen (Tom) and Jeff Gilbertson (Mindy); his siblings, Glenn Gilbertson, Claudia Showalter, Russell Gilbertson (Jane), John Gilbertson (Donna), Curtis Gilbertson (Judy) and Daniel Gilbertson (Sandra); his grandchildren, Tim Amen (Mattie), Brett Amen (Chelsea), Hannah Gilbertson and Jack Gilbertson; and his great grandchildren, Drake, Stella, Easton and Barrett Amen. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
