She was predeceased by: her parents, Wayne Schafer and Donna Schafer (Tracy); her son Tyler Zimmerman; her grandson Nic Zimmerman; and her brother Randy Schafer.
She is survived by: her daughters, Keri Mikkelsen (Rolf) and Sarah Centineo; her grandchildren, Jolie, Tristan, Montana "Tana" and Montgomery "Coltyn"; and her siblings, Kristi Jensen (Darol), Mindy Bonnet (Mike) and Jeff Schafer (Amy).
She made significant contributions to her community by establishing a daycare center in Illinois, where she worked closely with local family services to ensure the care and development of children.
