He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Thompson and Vera Thompson (Armstrong); his sister Mable Fullerton; his son Scott Thompson; and his son-in-law Darin Hoffmaster.

He is survived by: his wife Ann Thompson; his children, Kent Thompson and Jill Hoffmaster; his sister Lucille Granfield; his grandchildren, Brooke Duncan (Harrison), Jordan Nicewonger, Paige Leblanc (Christian) and Jake Thompson; his great grandchildren, Diana Daleness, Charles Duncan and Linden Leblanc; and his pet Gidget.
