Bruce Rippeteau Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bruce Rippeteau (Lincoln, Nebraska), born in Watertown, New York, who passed away on August 21, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Sandra McGuire; his children, Astrid (Stephen Brueckner) and Lucius (Erika Rippeteau); his grandchildren, Isaac and Lily; his siblings, Darrel Jr. (Judy Rippeteau) and Jane (Kevin Heffron); and his brother-in-law Michael (Jo McGuire).

His contributions to archaeology, education, and community service will be remembered and celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the UNL Foundation to support the Department of Anthropology in Bruce's memory.
