He was predeceased by: his parents, Barbara Herting and Lee Herting; his siblings, Brad Herting and Katie Richert (Herting); and his daughter Emily Herting.

He is survived by: his brother Doug Herting (Michele); his sister-in-law Barbie Herting (Brad); his nephews, Keith Herting (Kate) and Daniel Herting (Zixuan); and his grandchildren, Wesley, Allison, Bernadette, Samuel and Eleanor. He is also survived by his family and friends.
