He is survived by: his wife Gail Christenson of Beatrice; his children, Todd (Christine) of Lincoln, Bradley (Jodi) of Beatrice and Kimberly Straub (Bill) of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Samantha Morris (Kevin) of Omaha, Anne Swanson (Nick) of Cambridge, IA, Lucas Berke (Sophia) of Plymouth, MN, Kassidy Semrad (Trey) of Fremont, Meghan Straub of Lincoln, Marten Berke of Lincoln, Lauren Berke of Bellevue, Jaci Berke of Omaha, Blake Berke and Jada Berke of Beatrice; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Lincoln Morris of Omaha, Lilliana Berke of Plymouth, MN and Noah Swanson of Cambridge, IA.; his sister Betty Erickson of Phoenix, AZ; and his sister-in-law Marian Berke of Lexington. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
The lying in state will be held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 8:00 PM at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel (708 N 6th St, Beatrice, NE 68310). A prayer will be held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:15 AM to 10:30 AM at the St John Lutheran Church (701 N 6th St, Beatrice, NE 68310). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the same location.
A memorial has been established to St. John Lutheran Church and the Beatrice Rotary Foundation with the funeral home in charge.
