She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Brodin and Helen Brodin (Mickelson); her husband Gilbert Walter Gierhan; her stepfather Walter Wessman; and her brother Dr. Arlen Brodin.
She is survived by: her children, Steven, Steve Gierhan (Lori) of Lexington, Brenda Bucher (Alan) of Allen, Coleen Pegler (Don) of Lincoln and Alan Gierhan of Lexington; her stepsister Joy Dodd (Chuck); and her sister-in-law Gisela Brodin-Brosnan (Jerry) of Glenview. She is also survived by three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and seven step great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
