He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Pancake and Clarissa Pancake; his siblings, Simon John Pancake and Wilma Jean Pancake Lanz; his wife Evelyn Lucille Weber Pancake; his children, Kevin Ray Pancake and Roxanne Pancake; his daughter-in-law Kimberly Kay Maben Pancake; and his great grandchild Ryder Isaac Richardson.

He is survived by: his sons, William Clarence Pancake (Billy) and Kelley Ray Pancake (Katrina Marie Bouwman); and his grandchildren, Kyle Ray Pancake, Jackson Ray, Corbin Anthony, Emmerson Clarence, Kaycee Lynn Pancake Richardson (Tyler Grant Richardson) and Kenneth Paul Pancake (Breana McMichael Pancake).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in honor of Ray to the Alzheimer's Association.
